With the women's version of the Daylite Hiker Fusion barefoot shoes from Xero Shoes, you'll get your money's worth if you appreciate the natural feel of a comfortable, flexible shoe without a drop.
For everyday wear or for leisure time outdoors, when a technical, sturdy boot isn't necessary, the super-lightweight mid-cut Hiker is the ideal alternative. For an authentic barefoot feeling, the flexible sole shouldn't be too thick—after all, the sensory function of your sole is important. The Daylite Hiker Fusion's sole, which is only slightly cushioned, barely more than 10 mm thick, and equipped with a 3.5 mm tread, still falls into this category.
The breathable, ankle-length upper gives you some support and protection on your favorite trails. Lightweight, seamless reinforcements provide the necessary durability.
Verdict from Bergzeit tester Caroline: A lightweight, robust shoe that I recommend for technically simple day trips—for example, in low mountain ranges or the Alpine foothills. Also well-suited for beginners to barefoot hiking.
